Fraction Review:

1. LCD finding the least common denominator
2. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions
3. Introduce the concept of PI
4. Hands on workshop—real life application apple pie activity
5. Students will reflect on what they learned in the workshop.
6. Students will write some fractions problems using the information they have from the graph charts about slices of apples.
7. Minute math practice for ACT—
8. Students will create a math excel sheet.
9. Students work on grade specific skills.
10. Students are to measure the volume, area, perimeter of the cylinder, and cube, in metric and standard measurements and chart the findings.
11. Students compare the cylinder and cube. Which shape holds more volume? Which shape has a larger area and perimeter?
12. Computer Lab I- checking the MI Dept. of Ed. Standards and benchmarks.
13. Teach students how to look up on the internet what specific things they should be learning at their grade level, especially in math and science.
14. Computer lab II – math.com Students decide on a math concept they have learned from the reviews, that they want to teach someone else at their same grade level.
15. Students use Power Point to create a lesson.
16. The last 60 minutes students will share their reports.
17. Students will be video taped giving their lesson. Students in grades 4-6 will work on grade specific skills review
18. Students will individually create a video, and burn a dvd of themselves giving their math lesson, using a movie making software.
19. DVD goes home with them
